Taghazout: Morocco's Surf Village
World-class surf breaks, barefoot cafés and slow Atlantic days — a small fishing village turned surf capital, minutes north of Agadir.
Waves, fish tagines, no hurry
Taghazout grew from a Amazigh fishing village into one of Africa's best-known surf spots — consistent Atlantic swells, point breaks for every level and a village strip of surf shops, yoga roofs and grilled-fish stalls. Even non-surfers love it: the light, the pace and the ocean take care of the day.
It pairs effortlessly with Agadir (city beach and airport) and, further north, Essaouira. Tell us your level — first foam to seasoned — and we slot surf days, lessons and stays into a coastal route.
Highlights
- Surf the points — famous breaks around the village for all levels.
- Learn to surf — beginner beaches with local instructors.
- Village strip — cafés, rooftop yoga and surf shops.
